The Chilean has managed a solitary goal in his 19 appearances for the Nerazzurri this season.
After a series of successful dialogues between Manchester United and Inter Milan in the last few days, they have agreed to extend the loan deal ofAlexis Sanchezuntil the 2019/20 Serie A campaign ends, as per various reports emerging in England.
Previously, Inter Milan chief executive Giuseppe Marotta insisted that his club is facing difficulties in negotiating loan extensions – required due to an abrupt pause due to COVID-19 crisis – for players from multiple clubs – namely Victor Moses from Chelsea, Alexis Sanchez from Man United, and Ivan Perisic – temporarily at Bayern Munich fromInternazionale.
This is a great regulatory anomaly that needs to be resolved because we are still dealing with Chelsea (for Victor Moses) and Manchester United today to try to extend their loans,
It is not a simple thing. We are also dealing with Bayern Munich over Ivan Perisic. (Sky Sport Italia viaMEN)

Moving to Manchester United from Arsenal in the winter transfer window of 2018, Alexis Sanchez never made the cut at the Old Trafford managing a paltry return of two goals and four assists in his only full campaign, 2018/19.
Sanchez’s scene took the turn for the worse whenOle Gunnar Solskjaerdid not consider him in the plans for the rebuild job at Man United. The Norwegian envisaged his squad to be filled with youth and players determined to prove their worth rather than superstars on bloated pay-checks.
The United manager was so keen on changing the dressing room environment that he decided to let go of Sanchez even when the Chile international’s departure meant that Red Devils are left with limited options in attack.
Out to prove his worth after an underwhelming spell in Manchester, Alexis Sanchez struggled with injuries at Inter, managing just 19 appearances across all competitions.
However, the Internazionale bosses are said to be impressed with Sanchez’s flashes of brilliance and are prepared to give him an extended run at the club. But currently, the Italian side has managed to secure the Chile international until August 2 – when Serie A ends.
Despite their intention to sell, Man United have decided against extending Sanchez’s loan till the Europa League campaign, citing direct competition in the tournament and to avoid injury issues- which could depreciate the selling value of the player.

Smalling’s stay at AS Roma extended too
Man United centre-back Chris Smalling, who went on a fresh challenge to AS Roma, is set to stay at least till the Serie A season ends, as the clubs agreed to extend the temporary deal.
Similar to Alexis Sanchez’s loan term, Man United have decided against extending the stay till the Europa League to avoid strengthening direct competitors.
In addition, it’s expected that the Italian club will offer another loan-offer for the English defender ahead of the next season, worth three million Euros.La Magicais also said to include an obligation-to-buy clause for a fee of 15 million euros, as per Gianluca Di Marzio.
