Leicester City midfielder James Maddison is reportedly very close to penning a fresh contract at the King Power Stadium, amid strong interest from Manchester United.
After contributing 12 goals and a large number of assists in 51 Premier League appearances for the Foxes, the 23-year-old has been linked with the likes of United, Liverpool and Tottenham.
But talkSPORT states thatMaddisonis ready to sign a new long-term contract with the East Midlands outfit in the very near future, with Leicester currently Liverpool’s closest challengers in this season’s title race.
While Maddison, who is rated at £60million, still has over three-and-a-half years left on his existing deal, Leicester are seemingly ready to reward the former Norwich City man for his recent impressive form.
The England playmaker is said to be very keen on putting pen to paper afterwatching Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers commit his future to the club only last week.
Maddison was again instrumental as Leicester closed to within eight points of leaders Liverpoolafter winning 4-1 at Aston Villa on Sunday.
