Nuno Espirito Santo has wished former Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Benik Afobe well after the tragic death of his daughter.

Afobe’s two-year-old daughter Amora sadly passed away on Friday and Matt Doherty paid tribute by kissing his black armband after scoring the equaliser against Sheffield United.

Doherty and Afobe are close friends with the Irishman playing a key role in the striker’s return to Wolves in January 2018.

Afobe leftWolvesthe following summer but remains well thought of at Molineux. And head coach Nuno has sent the club’s best wishes to the striker and his family.

“Matt has a very close relationship with him, he’s his friend,” said Nuno. “We knew about it and Benik was with us, we are very sorry. We send our respects to Benik and his family. We wish him all the best. Stay strong.”
