Is there a problem between Ronaldo and Sarri at Juventus?
Antonio Cassano claims there is a “big problem” between Cristiano Ronaldo and Maurizio Sarri and that Gianluigi Buffon should be Juventus No 1.
After a setback against Sassuolo at the Allianz Stadium, where a penalty from Ronaldo saved a point against the Neroverdi on Sunday, Cassano seems convinced the club is hiding an issue between the No 7 and Sarri.
“I think Ronaldo has a big problem with Sarri,” Cassano told Tiki Taka. “Everything started with the two consecutive substitutions, which would irritate any player.
“In my opinion, there’s a problem between them and Juventus have succeeded in playing it down.”
The former Roma star then argued that Wojciech Szczesny should be left on the bench as Buffon was the “better” goalkeeper, despite his error yesterday.
“Buffon should play because he remains a better option than Szczesny.
“He was always benched at Arsenal and was a backup to [Manuel] Almunia and [Lukasz] Fabianski. At Roma he had a good year, while now he is in his first year as a starter.
“Anyway, right before Gigi’s mistake, it needs to be said that [Matthijs] De Ligt made yet another mistake.”
It is worth pointing out, however, that this season is the Pole’s second as first choice for the Old Lady between the sticks.
