CAF names FIFA World Cup referee for Super Eagles tie with Benin
The Confederation of African Football has named the FIFA World Cup referee for Super Eagles 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic on November 13 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
The Senegalese will be assisted by his compatriots; Nouha Bangoura (assistant referee 1), El Hadji Abdoul Aziz Gueye (assistant referee 2) and Fatou Thioune (fourth official), while Munkaila Nassam Adam from Ghana will serve as a match commissioner, while Algeria’s Kria Samir Bouzareah will be the referee assessor.
The Super Eagles, bronze medallists at the 32nd AFCON finals in Egypt this year summer take on Squirrels 5 pm in Uyo before facing Lesotho in their matchday two encounters of the 2021 AFCON qualifiers in Maseru three days later.
Nigeria head coach Genort Rohr will welcome back skipper Ahmed Musa from injury, with defenders Kenneth Omeruo, Abdullahi Shehu and Bryan Idowu, as well as midfielder Mikel Agu and forward Samuel Kalu also returning.
