Karim Benzema ‘awarded new £190k-a-week Real Madrid contract until 2022’ after explosive start to the season
KARIM BENZEMA has been rewarded for his blistering campaign so far with a bumper Real Madrid contract extension, according to reports.
The Frenchman, 31, was expected to fade into the background after the arrival of £52m hotshot Luka Jovic.
But with the Serbian ace yet to score for Los Blancos, and left out of his country’s latest squad, Benzema is enjoying a renaissance.
He has ten strikes in 14 games this season – including six in seven in La Liga – to fire his side to the top of the table.
And El Chiringuito claims Bernabeu chiefs have offered Benzema a £190,000-a-week deal lasting until 2022.
