In a recent tell-all interview, former Manchester United and current Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed that he was moments away from joining another Premier League club at one point in his career.
Before signing for the Red Devils in 2003, where he went on to spend six incredibly successful years, it was common knowledge that then Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger tried to lure him to the Gunners.
During a recent interview with Arsenal fan, journalist, writer and television personality Piers Morgan, Ronaldo confirmed that he came close to signing a contract with the London club.

“It is true. Of course it is true,” he told Morgan during the interview for ITV.
“Very close. One step. Seriously. I want to apologise. Forgive me for not joining Arsenal.
“It didn’t happen, but Arsenal, I appreciate what they did for me, especially Arsene Wenger, but in football, you never know where you are going to play, life is like that.
“But I appreciate Arsenal because it is a fantastic club and you support Arsenal. And now you support Juventus.”
Ronaldo played 196 games for United in the Premier League, scoring 84 goals and assisting a further 45 strikes, and winning the league title on three occasions.
