Ghana defender Baba Rahman has joined Real Mallorca on loan, Chelsea have reportedtoday on their official website.
As is becoming customary with these kinds of moves, the left back also signed a one year extension to his current contract, in order presumably to protect his value for a potential resale.
After arriving with a slew of dodgy names in 2015, Rahman has spent a lot of time on loan, initially with some success at Schalke before injuries chopped through the prime of his career.
Hopefully the newly promoted La Liga team will give him the chance to shine back in a top division again, with the chance to earn a move to a bigger side long term. He’s still shown flashes of talent, both at club level and with his national team, and there must be some reason that Chelsea signed him in the first place.
If all else fails, it’s a lovely place to live, that’s for sure.
