Former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua uploaded an inspirational image with ex-president of the United States of America Barack Obama.
According to the Daily Mail, the duo was invited guests at an event in Spain hosted by SAP on Friday, June 14, with Joshua not missing the opportunity to get a snap with the 44th president of the United States.
The Nigerian-born Joshua took to his Twitter handle on Tuesday, June 18, to celebrate the inspiration leader alongside a caption which read: “CEO Summit. A long way from where it all started.”
‘AJ’ as he is fondly called by friends and admirers is currently getting set foe a rematch after a surprise defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr earlier this month.
Interestingly, the first was Joshua’s first since turning professional, a result that saw the London-based pugilist lose three of his belts – WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles to the less-known Mexican opponent.
The 29-year-old Joshua is expected to face Ruiz in England in a rematch later this year.
Speaking ahead pf the fight, Tyson Fury’s manager Frank Warren has cautioned Joshua to reconsider his options, before stepping into the ring for fight Ruiz again.
“I do have my doubts,”Warren was quoted as saying on BBC 5 Live’s Sportsweek.
“I don’t think he should take the rematch. Maybe he should take some time out and regroup, I don’t know.
“That’s his decision. But he’ll be fighting a guy who next time will have more than five weeks’ notice and go into a proper training camp.
“I’m not going to say or make any predictions about the shape of his body, but he’s got fast hands and I believe he’s got Joshua’s number.
“He’s taken Joshua’s best shot and he knows he has the punching power to do damage to Anthony Joshua,”Warren submitted.
Earlier,Legit.ngreported thatAnthony Joshua lost his IBF, WBA, WBO world titles to Andy Ruizafter he was knocked out in the seventh round on Saturday, June 1.
It was Joshua’s first defeat in his career after winning 20 straight victories with 19 coming by the way of knockouts.
Ruiz is now the undisputed heavyweight boxing champion and has thrown the division wide open to challengers who want a shot at the titles.
The Mexican’s victory over the Nigerian-born British boxer is regarded as one of the biggest shock in the sports history.
