– While Man City trio of Bernando Silva, Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero are also competiting for the award along with Chelsea’s Eden Hazard

Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard has been shortlisted among seven Premier League players for the 2018-19 EA Premier League player of the season.

The Belgian has been a standout performer for the Blues – scoring 16 goals and 15 assists in 36 appearances this campaign.

Liverpool trio of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are also nominated for the prestigious prize as the season wraps up this weekend. While Manchester City’s attacking trio of Bernando Silva, Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling complete the seven man shortlist of the award. Salah tops the Premier League goals scorer’s chart with 22 goals, while Mane and Van Dijk have 20 and 4 goals respectively.

As the Merseyside outfit seriously contending to win the English topflight title for the first time in about three decades.

Though they are at the mercy of Manchester City losing, while they win to end up being crowned champions at the end of the season.

Aguero, Sterling and Bernando Silva have been responsible for 44 of City’s goals this campaign – which has contributed to their success in the league so far. The Citizens are just one win away from winning the EPL title for the second consecutive season – having won the trophy with a record 100 points last season.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Liverpool’s Virgil Van Dijk has been crowned the PFA Players’ Player of the Year after seeing off Raheem Sterling. The Dutchman has been rock solid for the Reds this campaign, helping his side keep double number clean sheets in the process. Van Dijk has scored six goals and two assists in all competitions for the Merseyside outfit this season.
