Katsina United coach Abdullahi Biffo has said his team will not rest on their oars until they pick one of the final tickets of the 2017/2018 Aiteo Cup.
The ‘Changi Boys’ put a fight and ousted their Kwara United opponent in one of the quarter-final matches played yesterday at the Agege stadium in Lagos. The encounter ended 3-1 in favour of the Katsina side.
Speaking after the match, Biffo, who was displeased by the poor performance of his players, said he will go back to the draw board and ensure his boys improve for the next phase of the competition.
“I don’t know what happened to my players, today will be the worst game I will ever play. We will work on our lapses. Now we are in the semi-final, we will work very hard. You know when the team is down, they gain natural motivation, they were lucky to get a goal. So far so good, we are still preparing, we have not reach the final,” he said.
Katsina United got their opening goal through Destiny Ashadi with a sublime strike in the 21st minutes, after which Tasiu Lawal doubled the lead.
But at the death of the first half, Kwara United’s Segun Alebiosu halved the deficit via a spot kick after he was upended in the 18 yard box, before Martins Usule sealed the victory for Katsina with a brilliant finish after he was teed up by Joshua.
